Proposal Entry Period
The Dream Big Canada $1 Proposal opens at 12:00 p.m Mountain Time (“MST”) October 1, 2019 and will close at 11:59 p.m. MST on December 31, 2019 (the “Proposal Period”), with a possibility of a single-use three (3) month extension, see Extension details below.
A minimum of 2100 entries, valued at $500,000 + GST, will be required by the end of the Proposal Period in order to consider the proposal opportunity closed. If the minimum entries are not achieved, the proposal opportunity may be cancelled. If less than the minimum entries are received, Agzone Inc. reserves the right to consider whether to continue with the proposal opportunity or not.
If the minimum required entries are nearly met, Agzone Inc. reserves the right to extend the deadline in attempt to reach the minimum entries required to proceed with the proposal opportunity. The decision to extend the deadline will officially be announced on the website on or before December 29, 2019. If exercised, only one three (3) month extension will be applied.
This proposal opportunity is open to all Canadian residents (excluding residents of Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in the Province where they reside, excluding owners and employees of Agzone Inc., and their respective immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, children and each of their respective spouses). Judges and their respective immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, children and each of their respective spouses) will also be excluded.
Entrants may be an individual, partnership or a corporation (an “Eligible Entrant”).
Agzone Inc.’s Dream Big Canada Committee (“DBCC”), may ask an entrant to provide proof of their identity to verify their qualifications as an Eligible Entrant. Submitted proposals will be disqualified if proof is not provided as requested.
If selected as a potential Finalist, DBCC may perform a credit bureau check on the entrant and their business.
Entrants must enter EACH proposal as follows:
- Visit our Dream Big Canada website at: dreambigcanada.ca during the Proposal Period and complete the online entry form.
- An entry fee of $250 (includes GST) in Canadian funds will be charged prior to completing the online entry form. Entrants will be provided with a receipt.
Only proposals submitted through the provided online form will be accepted. Only one entry per proposal will be accepted. More than one proposal may be submitted by an entrant; however, each proposal must be unique in nature and the $250 entry fee will apply to each proposal submitted.
DO NOT SEND MORE THAN THE $250 APPLICATION FEE PER PROPOSAL IN AN EFFORT TO HELP YOUR ENTRY ALONG!
If the proposal opportunity is cancelled, full refunds, less bank and credit card fees, will be issued within 45 days following the last day of the Proposal Period.
One (1) Commercial Property
The 9000sqft (7000sqft main floor and 2000sqft unfinished second floor) property, on 1.45 acres (more or less), offered is located at 5310 Pyrogy Dr., Glendon, AB, T0A 1P0. The adjacent lot is not included in the proposal opportunity and will be fenced off and separated upon acceptance of the winning proposal at the expense of Agzone Inc.
All submissions will be initially judged by Agzone Inc.’s Dream Big Canada Committee (the “DBCC”), which will be the owners and employees of Agzone Inc.. The DBCC will select the top 25 finalists and then an independent panel of 5 business leaders, advocates and area representatives (the “Judges”) will judge the top five (5) finalists in ranking order. The winning proposal will be considered final and binding without right of appeal and is at the sole and absolute discretion of the Judges. Judging will be based on the responses of the following questions and the submitted business plan (via text or video):
- Tell us about yourself and your business. What made you start (or want to start) your business?
- What are your business goals?
- How will the commercial property help you achieve those goals?
- How will your business impact the local community?
The following criteria, in no order of importance, will be used to select the winner:
- Employment opportunities; either quantity or quality,
- Economic and non-economic benefits to the community
- Compatibility to area economy
By January 10, 2020 (unless the Extension is applied, see Timeline Summary below), the DBCC will pick the top twenty-five (25) submissions. From there, the independent panel of Judges will carefully review the finalist submissions.
On January 17, 2020 (unless the Extension is applied, see Timeline Summary below), the top five (5) entries chosen from the independent panel of Judges will officially be announced on www.dreambigcanada.ca. The DBCC will endeavor to contact each Finalist by telephone.
To become a confirmed Finalist, the chosen Finalist must: (1) contact DBCC within two (2) business days of being contacted by telephone; (2) consent to perform a credit check; and (3) be able to attend the Live Reveal (in person or remotely via video conference), schedule TBD, in Glendon, AB.
Proposals from ineligible finalists, as determined by DBCC due to reasons including but not limited to failure to adhere to the Terms and Conditions, failure to be contacted or reply to attempts in being contacted, will be disqualified.
The Live Reveal
The Live Reveal in Glendon, AB, schedule TBD, will include the top two finalists (either in person or remotely via video conference). Agzone Inc. will provide and arrange, at their discretion, transportation and accommodations as needed. The reveal of the winning proposal will be “Live Streamed” and publicized online.

Agzone Inc. reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to change timelines, should causes beyond the control of Agzone Inc. affect the proper administration of the proposal opportunity (including, but not limited to, processing a high volume of entries). Any formal changes will be communicated on the website at www.dreambigcanada.ca.
NOT a Lottery
As per the AGLC regulations, this event is not a lottery as it is not a random draw.
NOT a Promotion
As per the Competition Bureau of Canada, this is not a promotional contest as it is not promoting any organization.
Please research the federal and provincial tax laws to determine any tax ramifications resulting from being the winning recipient before submitting your entry.
Legal Fees and Closing Costs
The winning entrant will be responsible for their portion of legal and closing fees related to the legal transfer of a commercial property. Property taxes will be adjusted to the date of possession.
The winning recipient will be subjected to the following Legal Agreements:
- Non-compete clause: In acceptance of their winning proposal, the winning entrant must sign a non-compete clause with Agzone Inc.
- Development Agreement: Based on the winning proposal, the winning entrant will be required to enter into a Development Agreement requiring the winner to develop the property pursuant to their intentions.
- Sales Agreement: In acceptance of their winning proposal, the winner must sign a Sales Agreement with Agzone Inc.
Transfer of Title
The winner will assume title clear of all encumbrances, subject to the within Terms and Conditions and the Development Agreement.
Right to Forfeit
The winning recipient will have the right to forfeit their winning application within 45 days. There will be no refund on their application fee.
The Required Agreements must be accepted and closed within 45 days of announcing the winner. If the Required Agreements are not accepted and closed within 45 days, the winning recipient will automatically forfeit their offer. An extension may be granted if both parties mutually agreed upon it in writing.
In the Event of Forfeiture
If the winning recipient has voluntarily or involuntarily forfeited their offer, the second-place applicant shall be deemed the winner and subsequently notified. Each applicant will be notified in turn if the preceding applicant has voluntarily or involuntarily forfeited their offer.
The possession date will be within 6 months of signing the Required Agreements, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing by both parties.
Any optional supplementary information will not be considered for the initial selection of the top twenty-five (25) finalists. The optional supplementary information can and may be used in judging the top twenty-five (25) finalists to select and rank the top 5 Finalists.
All proposal submissions become the property of Agzone Inc.. Agzone Inc. does not assume any responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, late, misdirected or damaged submissions or for any website malfunction, for any problems or technical failures of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Agzone Inc. on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from this proposal opportunity. Should a virus or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Agzone Inc., corrupt the security or administration of the proposal opportunity or for any other reason, Agzone Inc. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, cancel or suspend this proposal opportunity. Proposal submissions are subject to validation and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with or unlawful in any way. Proposals submitted by unauthorized means will be disqualified. If it has been determined that an entry has been made in a manner not allowed by these within Terms and Conditions, the entrant and all his/her entries will be disqualified without refund. Entrants agree to follow the within Terms and Conditions and the decisions of the Judges, which are final. This proposal opportunity is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control any and all rights in and to your proposed submission and that your proposed submission does not infringe or violate any intellectual property rights including copyrights and trademarks, privacy rights, proprietary rights, publicity rights, or any other rights of any kind whatsoever including any federal, provincial or municipal laws. By submitting your proposal, you warrant that your proposal has not been created using any pirated or unlicensed content, or other materials that include copyrighted or trademarked material that Agzone Inc. would not be entitled to use without providing additional compensation to the intellectual property owner.
